Crack formation in preslabs

As from Diamonds 2019r02, you can choose how the crack formation in the secondary direction (=z’-direction) of preslabs should be calculated:

  • either using the total plate thickness
  • either using the reduced plate thickness
Used plate height to calculate crack formation in secondary direction: (e)

This option is less conservative. It is used when the preslabs themselves (e.g. the elements with thickness (1)) have a large width (≈ 240cm) and with joints far away from the critical zones.

Used plate height to calculate crack formation in secondary direction: (e) – (1)

This is the most conservative option.

Note: this article shows the reinforcement zones in the different plate types.
