Error: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow at Diamonds.Units.Concrete_section.SnijpuntRechten

Contents

When calculating the reinforcement, you get the error:

[NL]: De rekenkundige bewerking heeft geresulteerd in een overloop bij Diamonds.Units.Concrete_section.SnijpuntRechten

[FR]: L’opération arithmétique a provoqué un dépassement de capacité, à Diamonds.Units.Concrete_section.SnijpuntRechten

Solution

  • Verify the dimensions of the elements. The error means that the coverage is larger than the dimensions of the section. This happens when you accidently enter the dimensions a factor 10 too small.
You can try to locate the trouble-causing elements by calculating the reinforcement only for a selection of elements. For example: level by level or first the beams, then the columns, then the walls, …  When the reinforcement has been calculated without erros, you set the selection invisible.
  • Verify the material of the SHS cross-sections in your project. Possibly their material is set to a concrete quality instead of a steel grade.
