On transferring a beam from Diamonds to ConCrete Plus, the message appears ‘Please check the resistance of the horizontal parts of the stirrups’

In Diamonds, beams can be loaded both in and outer plane. This results in shear forces Vz’ and Vy’. To resist to the shear force Vz’, reinforcement quantity Awz is calculated. This corresponds with the vertical part of the stirrups. In a similar way, the reinforcement Awy is calculated, taking on the shear force Vy’ and corresponding with the horizontal part of the stirrups. ConCrete Plus is a 1D software, so it will only translate the reinforcement quantity Awz (vertical part of the stirrups) into practical diameters. The user should verify that the horizontal part of the by ConCrete Plus proposed stirrups is sufficient:
- Awy <= Awz, no futher action needed, the stirrups can resist both Vy’ and Vz’
- Awy > Awz, the user should modify the stirrup diameter (or distance) so both the horizontal and vertical part >= Awy
