Unable to uninstall Gateway

Option 1: Run Microsoft InstallAndUninstall fixer

Option 2: Uninstall manually

1. Remove services

  1. Run cmd.exe as admin
  2. type following text + ENTER
    sc delete Gateway
  3. type following text + ENTER
    sc delete GatewayServer

2. Remove the installed files from the disk

C:\program files(x86)\BuildSoft\Gateway

3. Remove the old installer from the disk

  1. C:\Windows\Installer
  2. Show column ‘Subject’ to show the name of the installer because the msi-files have a random name.
  3. Remove the folder and source file related to the installer. These are defined by theinstaller’s GUID.

To find the GUID corresponding to your program you should look in the Registry. You can search for the name of the program in

HKLM\SOFTWARE\(WOW6432Node\)Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

4. Edit the Windows Registry

Start > regedit > run as administrator.

a. Remove the “Programs and features” entry

Remove the registry key

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\[ProductIdGUID]

or

HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\[ProductId GUID]

Remove key InstallShield Uninstall Information that references to Gateway.

b. Delete the registry key that points to the uninstaller
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\[InternalUserId]\Products\[randomGUID]

and

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\[ProductId GUID]

You can find the randomGUID by searching all

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\[InternalUserId]\Products\[GUID]\InstallProperties

keys for an entry with the name of the software
