Gateway and Gateway Server are correctly installed, yet it is not possible to start them

• in the Task Manager > the service is ‘started’ for half a seconds then it jumps back to ‘stopped’ again.
• or in Console > the black window pops up but disappears immedialty.

The Windows Event Log makes note of a problem in the AxProtector.

Solution

• Install the most recent version of CodeMeter.
