Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start

On starting the Gateway (Server) service, you get the error:

Windows could not start Gateway Server-service on Local Computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start

[NL]: Kan de Gateway Server-service op Lokale computer niet starten.
Fout 1068: Afhankelijksheidsservice of -groep kan niet worden gestart

[FR]: Windows n’a pas pu démarrer le service Gateway Server sur Ordinateur local.
Erreur 1068: Le service ou le groupe de dépendance n’a pas pu démarrer.

[ES]: Windows no pudo iniciar el servicio Gateway Server en Equipo local
Error 1068: No se puede iniciar el servicio o grupo de dependencia

Solution

  • Make sure the service CodeMeter.exe is Started.
    If not, go to Start > All Programs > find CodeMeter Control Center in the list and click on it to start it.
