A point  A node 

A point refers to the intersection of two or more (geometry) lines..  A mesh node (‘node‘ for short) refers to the intersection of two ore more mesh lines. 
The frame below consists of 4 points.
A point, will always result in a node in the mesh. 
The same frame contains 19 nodes.
The number of nodes depends on the chosen mesh size.

How to search for a certain point:  It is not possible to perform a search based on node number.

How to view the node numbers?
 Click on
 Go to the tab page ‘Mesh’.
 Check the option ‘Show node number’.
 Click ‘OK’.
 Adjust the size of the numbers here .
It is not possible to run a searchcommand based on the node numbers like it is possible for point numbers.
